OUR LOCATION
Location: Forth
10 minutes drive from Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania.
Drive distances:
Devonport: 10 minutes
Cradle Mountain: 65 minutes
Launceston: 60 minutes
Barnhaus is located close to the port-city of Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania, with Devonport Airport only 20 minutes drive. Car hire is available from both the above. SELF DRIVE
Self-drive holidays, with a number of car hire options available (or bring your own via the Spirit of Tasmania), is the easiest way to explore our region.
Compass Hut is located at the centre of many visitor attractions and experiences. Self-drive allows you the flexibility to plan your tailored visitor experience at your own pace.
AIRPORTS
Flying to Tasmania is the most popular option when visiting our island state. Tasmania has 4 airports across the state, with 2 located within our North West region.
Devonport Airport is only 20 minutes drive from Compass Hut. Public transport is available. Alternatively, several car hire options are available also for your self-drive holiday.

BY SEA
SPIRIT OF TASMANIA
For many travellers coming to our region and Tasmania, bringing your own car is a great option. Compass Hut is lucky to be located only 10 minutes drive from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal in the port-city of Devonport on Tasmania's North West Coast.
The large Spirit of Tasmania vessels sail every night of the week, and also have additional and regular day sailings. Passengers can choose to book on their car, or simply travel to Tasmania as a passenger; with both cabins and recliner options.
