THE TINY HOUSE ACCOMMODATION

Are the tiny homes self-contained and do they have privacy and seclusion?

Yes. Each tiny house is located on the same property, but are between 200 - 500 metres apart to provide plenty of privacy. Each has its own private garden, screening and outdoor areas. The tiny homes are self-contained with self-check-in. Upon booking, the directions and self-check-in instructions are provided. We live on another part of the farm over the hill, but we can be contacted any-time. Each tiny house also has their own driveways (approx. 500 metres in length at the most, from the main road) and parking spots.

Do you provide free WIFI?

Absolutely! Each tiny house provides free wifi. 

 

What is the maximum number of guests the tiny homes can accommodate?

The maximum number of guests that can be accommodated is 2 adults.

How far is Compass Hut from the city of Devonport (restaurants, supermarkets, petrol etc.)?

By car, Compass Hut is a 12 minute drive from the CBD of Devonport. 

Devonport has a range of shopping options, petrol, restaurants for travellers. Devonport is Tasmania’s 3rd largest city, and home to the Spirit of Tasmania.

Are you close to Cradle Mountain?

Yes! We are on one of the main routes to Cradle Mountain from Devonport. If you are looking to base yourself in the beautiful agriculture region of greater Devonport/Sheffield, Cradle Mountain is only a 65 minute drive from Compass Hut. 

We are also only 20 minutes drive from the mural town of Sheffield, and 12 minutes drive from Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania. The perfect place to explore our region.

We are catching the ferry back to Victoria. How far are you from the Spirit of Tasmania?

Compass Hut is only a 14 minute drive from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal. The road to the accommodation is one of the main roads connecting the country areas back to Devonport. Taxis' regularly service our area, and car hire is available (see below).

Devonport’s taxis’ service our location. Alternatively, for those looking for transfers and tours, there is a range of operators in our region. Please feel free to get in touch with us to find out more.

 

What about car hire?

Bringing your own vehicle via the Spirit of Tasmania, or hiring a car on arrival is the best way to explore our region. 

Car hire is available in Devonport, at the Spirit of Tasmania and the Devonport Airport. This includes hire services such as Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty.
